NFL Betting Preview Rams vs. Buccaneers January 23, 2022

In the divisional round of the playoffs, the Los Angeles Rams will face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium. After defeating the Cardinals 34-11 in the wild card round, the NFC West champion Rams will travel to Tampa Bay to take on Tom Brady and the Bucs. Meanwhile, the NFC South champion Buccaneers pummeled the Eagles 31-15 and looked to avenge their loss to the Rams earlier in week three.

Los Angeles Rams Betting Preview: Rams Look to Pull Off Upset in Tampa Bay

The Rams have come together since losing all three of their games in November and are now one of the hottest teams in the NFL. They’ve won six of their previous seven games and are on fire heading into this rematch with the Buccaneers, whom they beat 34-24 in Week 3.

The Rams will use that victory as a springboard for their clash against the defending Super Bowl champions. In the triumph over Arizona, the offense racked up 375 yards and three touchdowns. Matthew Stafford looked methodical, tossing two touchdowns and no interceptions, while Cooper Kupp and Odell Beckham each secured a touchdown.

On the other hand, the defense did the most of the hard work, restricting a high-powered Cardinal attack to an absurd 183 total yards. The Rams’ defense gave Arizona fits the whole game, sacking Kyler Murray twice and picking him off twice, one of which went for a touchdown. Los Angeles also held the Cardinals to only 11 points.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Betting Preview: Brady and the Bucs Look to Defend Super Bowl

This season, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been just as deadly, as evidenced by their 31-point victory over the Philadelphia Eagles in their most recent meeting. At 44 years old, Tom Brady led the league in touchdown passes with 43, and he added two more in his 46th postseason game. Tampa Bay finished the regular season with the number two overall offense, boasting over 400 yards and 30.1 points per game.

Jalen Hurts was frustrated throughout the game by Tampa Bay’s defense, which kept the Eagles’ offense off the scoreboard until the fourth quarter. In 2021, the Eagles were the league’s leading rushers, but the Buccaneers kept them to 95 yards and one touchdown on the ground. Overall, the defense was 13th in total defense (331.5) and third in run defense.

During the Wild Card round, both teams breezed to victories. Both teams are built to win right now, but one of them will have their season come to an end following this NFL Divisional Round battle. This season, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are 7-2 ATS at home, while the Rams are 4-5 ATS as an away team.

The Rams have really put things together, winning six of their last seven and have the complete roster with the additions of Odell Beckham, Von Miller, and Cam Akers. Despite this, they’re going against Tom Brady! Like it or not, this guy just always finds a way to win and utilize his team’s strengths. Conversely, Matthew Stafford is still the same guy that finished the year with eight interceptions in his last four games. The Buccaneers are elite on both sides of the ball, but Tom Brady is the X-Factor.
