NFL Betting Preview: Miami Dolphins vs. New York Jets

The Miami Dolphins (3-7) and New York Jets (2-7) are set to square off at MetLife Stadium for a Week 11 matchup in the AFC East division. The Miami Dolphins come into this matchup on a two-game winning streak after an upset win over the Ravens on Thursday Night. On the other hand, the Jets got absolutely pummeled by the Bills at home 45-17.

Miami Dolphins Betting Preview: Dolphins Defense Lethal with Xavien Howard

The Miami Dolphins earned back-to-back wins for the first time since week 1-16 of 2020, taking out the top team in the AFC North on Thursday Night football. The Dolphins got a huge game defensively from their secondary. Xavien Howard forced a fumble, and Justin Colman grabbed an interception for the team’s fifth-ranked 15th takeaway of the year. The Dolphins held Lamar Jackson to just 238 yards in the air, while the defensive front sacked Jackson four times.

On the offensive side of the ball, Tua Tagovailoa is dealing with a finger injury but came in off the bench throwing for 158 yards, while punching in a touchdown on the ground. The quarterback provided a big spark for the team as the offense came into the league ranked 30th on offense with an ugly 17.7 points per game.

New York Jets Betting Preview: Flacco to Start after Bills Blowout Jets at Home

The New York Jets have been on a tear offensively, producing 74 points, while Mike White produced almost 500 yards and five touchdowns. However, the Mike White show disappeared last Sunday when New York took on the Bills. The offense produced a miserable 17 points, along with Mike White recording four interceptions on the day. Robert Salah and the offense will now turn to veteran Joe Flacco to take over in the absence of rookie quarterback Zac Wilson.

The Jets boast the worst defense in the league coming into week 11, ranked last, allowing 417 yards and 32.9 points per game. Against the Bills, the swiss cheese defense allowed over 500 yards and 45 points to an offense that scored just six-point the week before. Unfortunately, it gets worse; over the Jets’ last four games, the defense has allowed 43.8 points per game, and that just won’t cut it in the NFL.

Betting Lines & Odds

Early betting odds on MyBookie have the Dolphins at -2.5 as the favorite, while the point total is at 45.5.

Moneyline: Dolphins -180 | Jets +155

It’s important to note that the Dolphins are 4-5-1 ATS, while the Jets are 2-7 ATS and 0-5 ATS as the home team.

Free Betting Pick

I love Miami in this matchup; the Jets are rolling with Joe Flacco, who is not only 36 years old, but hasn’t made a start since 2020. Miami has one of the best defenses in the league when Xavien Howard is on the field.

On top of that, the Jets defense is the worst unit in the league. With Miami coming off of a huge win against the Baltimore Ravens, I fully expect coach Flores and Tua Tagovailoa to send a message to the league that the Dolphins are coming. Back the Dolphins with confidence here.

BetUSASports Free Pick: Miami -2.5
