NFL Betting Preview Chiefs vs. Packers

All eyes will be on this week’s nine matchups between the Green Bay Packers (7-1) and the Kansas City Chiefs (4-4) at Arrowhead Stadium. The Green Bay Packers picked up a huge victory against the unbeaten Cardinals on the road 24-21 on Thursday Night football. On the other hand, the Chiefs barely handled the Giants on Monday Night football 20-17.

Green Bay Packers Betting Preview: Pack Will Be Without Rodgers against Chiefs

This season, the Green Bay Packers have been one of the biggest surprises, snagging their seventh straight win after being blown out in week one of the regular season. Even more impressive, the Packers went on the road against arguably the best team in the NFL and beat them on both sides of the ball.

The Packers’ defense has been one of their most significant assets of the season. Last time out, the Packers held Arizona to just 21 points and under 400 yards for the second time in their 2021 campaign. The defensive unit ranks eighth in the league and has the third-most takeaways in the league after picking up three against the Cardinals.

On the offensive side of the ball, the Packers have always been a gun-slinging team. Aaron Rodgers has been their best player every season and is off to an impressive start again. The quarterback has thrown 2+ touchdowns during the seven-game winning streak with only one interception. Be that as it may, the Packers will turn to Jordan Love, who will start his first career.

Last week, the Packers ran wild on the Arizona Cardinals, compiling 151 yards on the ground along with one score. With Aaron Rodgers out, expect a heavy dose of the run and short passes to keep it simple for Jordan Love.

Kansas City Chiefs Betting Preview: Chiefs Need Big Win to Get Back on Track

The Kansas City Chiefs didn’t make it look pretty, but they secured a win against the Giants on Monday Night football. The Chiefs have struggled to get things going on offense so far in 2021. The Chiefs have only mustered 23 points in their last two games and need to find a way to get back on track in order to compete for a playoff spot.

Patrick Mahomes has been one of the most disappointing quarterbacks this season, leading the league in interceptions. The veteran quarterback has thrown ten interceptions so far in 2021 while throwing at least one interception in every game since week 1. The offense has turned the ball over 19 times, the most in the Andy Reid/Patrick Mahomes era, with nine games, still left to go.

Defensively, the Chiefs have been at the bottom of the barrel in the NFL. The defense comes into the matchup ranked 29th in total defense and has been particularly atrocious against the pass. The secondary is allowing 270 yards through the air but should have a favorable matchup against Jordan Love.

Betting Lines & Odds

MyBookie opened the line with the Chiefs as the -2.5 favorite but quickly moved to -7.5 with the news of Aaron Rodgers. The point total is set at 48.

I think this is the week the Chiefs finally get back on track. It seems like they have everything going for them. They should have an easier matchup without the presence of Aaron Rodgers, in addition to playing at home with the crowd behind them.

Aaron Rodgers is the epitome of this team, and they go as Aaron goes. With Rodgers not playing, I think it really brings down the morale, and the Chiefs cruise to victory with their potent offense. Take the Chiefs.
