NFL Betting Preview Bills vs. Jets

An important AFC East matchup takes place Sunday when the Buffalo Bills (5-3) visit the New York Jets (2-6) at Metlife Stadium. The Bills were stunned by the Jaguars on the road last week 9-6, while the Jets gave up 45 in their loss to Indianapolis 45-30.

Both of these teams will look to get back in the win column, with the Bills hoping to stay in the first place while the Jets are still trying to fight for a playoff spot. Let’s take a look at how these two teams match up.

Buffalo Bills Betting Preview: Bills Looked Sluggish Coming Off of Bye Week

The Buffalo Bills offense disappointed after coming off a bye week. The NFL’s eighth-ranked offense managed an ugly six points and 334 yards of offense. The offensive line clearly had issues with protection, with Josh Allen running for his life. The quarterback was sacked four times while throwing two interceptions, trying to make things happen on the run.

The rushing attack was non-existent, with the running backs managing 22 yards, while Josh Allen led with 50 yards. The offense clearly runs through Josh Allen, but they need to bring a more balanced attack if they want to be successful. The one-dimensional offense has managed 29.4 points a game, but they’ll look to play some power football against the 27th ranked rushing attack of the Jets.

Defensively, the Bills continue to excel, coming in week ten as the number one defense in the league. Last Sunday, they allowed nine points and conceded just 230 total yards. The unit is only giving up 262.6 yards per game, and they rank first in points allowed. The defense is doing their job with the second-most takeaways in the league. They’ll need the offense to rebound against the Jets.

New York Jets Betting Preview: Jets Surging on Offense

The New York Jets have figured some things out offensively ever since rookie Zac Wilson went down with an injury. The offense has put up 32 points per game, while quarterbacks Mike White and Josh Johnson have injected some juice in the passing attack averaging 400 yards through their last two games.

A big part of their offense has been Michael Carter, but he was slowed down by the Colts defensive front last Sunday. Be that as it may, the rookie has been the Jet’s secret weapon totaling 591 yards through eight games while finding the endzone three times. Robert Salah has to get this defense going as the Jets allowed 28 points in the first half against the Colts, along with giving up 130 points to opponents in their last three games. Particularly against the run, New York has been absolutely atrocious. They conceded over eight yards a carry to the Colts, while allowing 500 yards of total offense. The Jets rank dead last in total defense in the NFL, giving up 408.1 yards. They’ll need to rebound quickly against the Bills.

The Bills have a fantastic opportunity to get back on track when they face the worst defense in the league on Sunday. Be that as it may, the offense hasn’t been at its best in their last two games. They will also have their backs against the wall on the road with a Jets offense that is heating up.

I love the Jets here; although their defense hasn’t been great, they’ve been killing it on offense. The Bills’ defense will be the best one they’ve faced all year; however, the Bills had trouble with the Jags’ defense, giving up 375 yards and 26 points per game. The Jets have played their best at home, winning their only two games at MetLife. Back the Jets and take the points.
