NFL Betting Preview 49ers vs. Rams January 30, 2022

The 49ers and Rams will meet in the NFC championship game at SoFi Stadium at 6:30 p.m. ET on FOX, after both teams won their divisional playoff games on last-second field goals. The 49ers beat the Packers 13-10 at Lambeau Field to secure a trip in the NFC Championship game, while the Rams defeated Tom Brady and the Buccaneers 30-27.

San Francisco 49ers Betting Preview: 49ers Look for Third Win Against the Rams This Year

On Saturday, the 49ers failed to score an offensive touchdown at Green Bay, with the offense totaling only 212 yards and Jimmy Garropolo finishing with a 57.1 quarterback rating. Whatever the case, the San Francisco 49ers’ defense kept the Green Bay Packers to 263 total yards of offense while also recording a fumble recovery, four sacks, and a blocked punt return for a touchdown.

The 49ers have a star-wide receiver of their own, Deebo Samuel, who has surpassed 1,000 yards for the first time in his career and was second on the 49ers in rushing yards with 365. Against the Rams during the regular season, Samuel racked up 297 yards of total offense while rushing for two touchdowns, pulling in a touchdown pass, and throwing one.

The 49ers have won six consecutive games over Sean McVay’s Rams, and this will be the third meeting between the two teams this season. The 49ers won the first encounter 31-10 at Levi’s Stadium in Week 10 and most recently took out the Rams in the last week of the season 27-24 to clinch a playoff berth.

Los Angeles Rams Betting Preview: Rams Seek Revenge Against 49ers

With two tremendous wins in his first two postseason games, Matthew Stafford has proven to be everything the Rams hoped for, bringing the team to the NFC Championship. He has 568 passing yards, four touchdown passes, 28 running yards, and two rushing touchdowns in two postseason triumphs.

Cooper Kupp has also played a huge role in the offense’s success. This year recorded 11 100-yard games during the regular season and had nine catches for 183 yards against Tampa Bay. In 2021, the 28-year-old became the fourth player in NFL history to lead the league in receptions, receiving yards, and touchdown catches. He got over 100 yards in each of his games against the 49ers this season.

The Los Angeles Rams defense allowed 359 total yards and 27 points in their Divisional Round victory over Tampa Bay. The Rams also forced a fumble and intercepted Brady once. As of late, Aaron Donald, Von Miller, and Leonard Floyd have combined for 3.5 sacks against opposition defenses.

San Francisco struggled offensively in a 13-10 win over Green Bay last Saturday but excelled on defense and special teams. The defense was lights out against the Packers, forcing them to punt six times, including blocking one of the kicks and returning it for the game-tying touchdown.

On the other hand, Los Angeles has scored at least 20 points in nine straight games since returning from its bye week, including 30 or more in five of them. They look like a super bowl team with offensive and defensive firepower combined. Be that as it may, the 49ers are 5-1 ATS in their last six games as road underdogs and have taken the last six consecutive games from the Rams. I love the 49ers in this one.
