The Milwaukee Bucks have not been playing well so far this season, yet a visit to Detroit might just brighten up the mood inside the Bucks locker room. Find NBA Betting Previews for Bucks vs. Pistons, below!
Pistons Betting Preview:
The Detroit Pistons are not a good team, and everybody knew that before the season, but this 1-5 start seems underwhelming. They are not a team completely void of talent, but they are still without Cunnigham. Much is expected of the rookie point guard, and with him in the lineup, this Pistons team might just end up looking much more decent. So far, it’s been rather bad, but at home, they have a 1-1 record, so that they might put up a decent fight against Milwaukee.
It will be tough because the Pistons are the worst offensive team in the league. They are one of only three teams scoring below 100 points on average so far this season, and that should definitely improve with Cunnighman back into the fold. Jerami Grant is their best player so far, but he is playing much worse than last year, averaging only about 16 points per game. He can do better, and the team might do better in the future as they mainly played teams with winning records so far this season. Will it turn against the Bucks remains to be seen.
Bucks Betting Preview:
The Milwaukee Bucks are not playing very good basketball right now, but there is no reason to sound the alarms. The Bucks are still an elite team, and they will play in the playoffs. They are just not taking things too seriously right now, but eventually, Giannis will rally the troops, and things will settle in nicely. They are about an average team on offense but a below-average team on defense. That tells you all you need to know because, as we know, defense mostly comes down to effort.
It’s not there yet, and that’s why they are struggling a bit, but they will take off once they take things seriously. After all, they have some solid wins this season, like the one over Brooklyn in the first game, and that match was not even close. A couple of players are out with Jrue Holiday most likely not playing and with Khris Middleton being day today as well. Will it matter? Perhaps, perhaps not.
Giannis vs. everybody
With Brook Lopez being out, Giannis is playing center, and he is playing it very well. The Pistons don’t have anybody who can successfully guard him, but Jerami Grant has enough length to stay with him. If he ends up being the primary defender on Giannis, he will have the task of guarding him, and it probably won’t be pretty. Giannis is quite crafty down below, and his sheer power and physicality should have him dominate Grant or anybody else the Pistons throw at him.
Allen – Bey
Grayson Allen has seen his number explode in the past few games after he was thrust into the starting lineup. The guard is shooting the ball exceptionally well and is proving a solid asset for Milwaukee. He might go against another player who is a capable shooter in Bey who can hurt you if you don’t pay attention. That’s why Allen will carefully watch film to try and curb one of the biggest shooting threats on the Pistons.
Pistons – Bucks betting lines
The Pistons are 5,5 points underdogs, at home and that seems quite generous. Milwaukee is the better team, even with many players out. I don’t see how the Pistons can keep up, especially with how they looked so far.
The points are set at 216, and that seems about right. I don’t really see the Pistons scoring much over 100, if at all, so I would lean under on this line, especially if the Bucks are without Middleton and Jrue, which they might be.
Free Betting Pick
Despite all the absences for Milwaukee, this would be a matchup where the defending champions have a clear edge. The Pistons have some solid talent on the roster, but hardly anybody can guard Giannis, and if any of his co-stars turn up to the game in decent shape, Milwaukee should have a field day. With the line set at 5,5, I see no problem with that. I think Milwaukee will win easily, and it will be by more than 5 points.
