College Football Betting Buckeyes vs. Cornhuskers

Ohio State has been one of the most exciting teams in all the country to watch, and we are now once again set up to see another absolute barn-burner as the Ohio State Buckeyes travel to Memorial Stadium in Lincoln this Saturday. Ohio really has not needed to play at a high level the last month or so, as they have had an easy schedule as of late, but you can only beat what is in front of you, and that is exactly what they have done.

The Cornhuskers, on the other hand, have played some pretty tough teams, but they have not exactly been getting over the line much, losing 4 of their last five games. Now each of those games has been very competitive, so they might be able to cover this spread here against Ohio State, as they just do not feel like a team who is going to get blown out very often.

Ohio State Buckeyes Betting Preview:

When we talk about the Buckeyes this year, we really need to start off with this offense, as it looks like it may very well be the best unit in all of college football. Everything starts with CJ Stroud, who has now thrown for 2270 yards and 23 touchdowns and just three picks, but he will need to really show up here, as the Cornhuskers defense is quite decent. He had a good, not great game against Penn State last time out, throwing for 305 yards and a touchdown, as Ohio State went on to win that one by a score of 33-24.

With a QB as talented as CJ Stroud, it could be easy to forget about the running game, which is also elite, led by freshman RB Treveyon Henderson who now has 845 yards and 12 TD’s on the season. He really was the one to steal the show in that Penn State game, as he put up 152 rushing yards and a touchdown and broke off a long one for 68 yards showing the big-play potential he has.

Nebraska Cornhuskers Betting Preview:

The Cornhuskers come into this game with a 3-6 record, but they really are one of the best 3-6 teams in the nation, as they have just not had any easy games this year, and they have been mighty competitive when they have played good teams. They do desperately need a win, though, as they ride a 3 game losing streak into this one, and that home crowd will be behind them in a big way here on Saturday.

They did deserve to win that last game against the Purdue Boilermakers, as they were the better team for the vast majority of the day, but 4 turnovers took away any chance they had at winning that one. One big problem they found in that game was a time of possession, as they only managed to hang on to the ball for 21 minutes, and if that happens here, it will be a long day for the Cornhuskers.

Every single one of those turnovers came by interception, as Adrian Martinez had one of the worst games of his career. It is tough to know how he will bounce back here, but he has shown me enough over the course of his career that I think he can come into this game and have a big bounce-back performance.

Ohio State Buckeyes vs. Nebraska Cornhuskers Betting Lines & Odds

The total seems like it is efficiently priced, but I really do like the Cornhuskers on the spread here, especially since we are getting the hook on the 14, which could prove crucial. As I said earlier in the article, the Cornhuskers simply do not get blown out even when they play great teams, and I do not see that changing here on Saturday.

The home crowd should be loud, and this Cornhuskers defense should be pumped up and put up a good performance; although I do not see the Cornhuskers winning this one, I certainly think they have a solid chance of covering this spread, and that is the way I am going in this contest.
