College Football Betting LSU Tigers vs. Alabama Crimson Tide

The Alabama Crimson Tide has been great this year, and they will look to continue their winning ways against an LSU Tigers team who certainly leaves a lot to be desired. As a result of LSU’s downfall following the past couple of NFL Drafts, the Crimson Tide will enter this game as 28.5 point favorites, and despite that massive spread, there is still far more money in the markets for Alabama as opposed to LSU.

No doubt, though, the LSU Tigers will come to play, as they have not been done many favors in terms of their schedule entering this one off the back of 4 games against ranked opponents, so they could be more competitive than most people think.

LSU Tigers Betting Preview:

The LSU Tigers got off to a great start against Ole Miss in their last game, going up 7-0 in the first quarter, but a heart-breaking interception in the endzone by LSU QB Max Johnson was the turning point, as they were dominated by Ole Miss the rest of the way in an eventual 31-17 loss. That was a bit of a rare thing for Max Johnson, who has been quite good this year, putting up 20 touchdowns and only having five picks, so this will be an excellent opportunity for him to bounce back and prove a lot to a lot of people.

A big reason the Tigers have struggled so much this year has been the defense, as they have allowed a whopping 408.5 yards per game and have been awful against the run, getting gashed by opposing running backs with regularity. Their secondary will also clearly be tested against an Alabama side that has managed to throw for an average of 323 yards, so it will be interesting to see if this Tigers defense can step up at all to stop this Crimson Tide offense.

Alabama Crimson Tide Betting Preview:

There is not a whole lot we need to say about the Crimson Tide, as they are who we thought they were. Outside of that loss to A&M, they have been stellar, and it is really tough to imagine the LSU Tigers to slow down this juggernaut who is rightly favored to win the NCAAF Playoff this year.

The Crimson Tide’s last game was interesting for three quarters as it looked like the Volunteers had a chance to pull off the huge upset, but the Tide’s electric offense exploded in the 4th quarter for four touchdowns and made that final score look like a complete blowout. Regarding their actual players, we can look at starting QB first who seems like a decent Heisman candidate with 2453 passing yards and a pretty crazy 26-3 TD to INT ratio. I can only imagine him greatly building upon those already impressive stats against the Tigers’ defense.

One guy who should be set up for a huge game here is WR Jameson Williams, who is the main deep threat on the Crimson Tide, and with the way I expect this Alabama running game to roll here, there should be plenty of opportunities for big shots downfield.

BLSU Tigers vs. Alabama Crimson Tide Betting Lines & Odds

Do I really think the Baylor Bears are 9.5 points (Adjusted for home-field) better than TCU? No, not really. The world is very high on Baylor, and TCU has pretty much been forgotten about, but the thing that really gets to me, as I alluded to at the start of the article, is just how brutal a matchup this is for the TCU front 7. I simply do not trust them to stop the Baylor running game, and I really would not be all that surprised if the backup running back has a good game in this spot, as this one could get very ugly if I am right about this TCU defense.

I do not see a ton in the total here as it seems appropriately priced, and the only real bet for me is Baylor on the spread, even if I have my concerns about them being slightly overrated.
