Sweet 16 Betting Picks & Predictions

Sweet Sixteen Picks

The College Basketball world is down to just 16 teams remaining. After this coming weekend, we will have the final four teams, which will play in Phoenix. We have taken a look at the Sweet 16 picks, and have our top bets for Thursday and Friday’s Sweet Sixteen games. Let’s look at them here:

Michigan Wolverines -1.5 over Oregon Ducks

This is the first game of the Sweet 16, and it features two teams from power conferences. The Michigan Wolverines out of the Big Ten, take on the Oregon Ducks, out of the Pac-12. Michigan is coming off a big win over Louisville. The Wolverines have won six straight games. Derrick Walton Jr is scoring nearly 16 points per game for the Wolverines. The Oregon Ducks came away with a narrow win over Rhode Island in the second round. The Ducks have won 31 games, but are one of the top scoring teams in the nation, at 80 points per game. Michigan is too hot, look for the Wolverines to down the Ducks narrowly on Thursday.

West Virginia Mountaineers +3.5 over Gonzaga Bulldogs

The pressure of the West Virginia Mountaineers will take on the big men of the Gonzaga Bulldogs. It’s Bob Huggins against Mark Few. The West Virginia Mountaineers have scored 84.5 points per game in their first two NCAA tournament games. They will face a Gonzaga team that has just one loss on the season. The big men for the Bulldogs have been outstanding. The Bulldogs are scoring nearly 84 points per game. Look for the West Virginia pressure defense to cause havoc for the Bulldogs, and West Virginia pulls the upset.

Kansas Jayhawks -4 over Purdue Boilermakers

The Kansas Jayhawks may have to beat three straight Big Ten schools to get to the Final Four. If the Jayhawks win this game, they may get a date against the Michigan Wolverines. Kansas is coming off a 20 point win over Michigan State. For Purdue, Caleb Swanigan and the Boilermakers have been outstanding. Purdue was way up on Iowa State, and held on for the win The Boilermakers are the most unselfish team in basketball. Look for the guard play of Kansas to get the job done here, with four talented playmakers. Bet the Kansas Jayhawks to beat the Purdue Boilermakers.

Xavier Musketeers +7.5 over Arizona Wildcats

While the Arizona Wildcats are going to win this game, Sean Miller and his Wildcats are going to have their hands full with Xavier. Chris Mack and the Musketeers are scrappy, and playing great basketball right now. Look for this to be a couple possession the entire way, with Xavier having a chance late to tie or win the game. Arizona’s defense is very underrated. Look for Xavier to cover this spread, while the Wildcats head to the Elite 8.

North Carolina Tar Heels -7 over Butler Bulldogs

The Tar Heels have got their scare for the tournament. The Tar Heels were a couple minutes away from losing to Arkansas in the second round of the tournament. Now, Roy Williams has the Tar Heels full focus, and they got a few days to prepare for the Bulldogs. Butler has been a nice story once again in the tournament, but the talent is not there to beat the Tar Heels. Look for North Carolina to win this game on Friday by double digits over Butler.

Baylor Bears -3 over South Carolina Gamecocks

The Big 12 against the SEC. The South Carolina Gamecocks have been a great story. Winning against Duke should not have come as that big of a surprise, being nearly home. The Baylor Bears are an impressive offensive team, and can gear it up on the defensive side when needed. Most of the reason South Carolina upset the Duke Blue Devils was their 65 points in the second half. Look for South Carolina to struggle to get to that in this game. The final bet for this game on Friday should be the Baylor Bears -3 over the South Carolina Gamecocks.

Kentucky Wildcats pk over UCLA Bruins

These two teams played earlier in the season and UCLA came away with a win at Rupp Arena. The Kentucky Wildcats and UCLA Bruins are two of the youngest, most talented basketball teams in all of America. These two teams are going to play in another fantastic affair. The offense is going to control this game. But, when push comes to shove, the team that gets a few stops late in the game is going to win the game. The better defensive team is the Kentucky Wildcats. Therefore, the bet for this game is the Kentucky Wildcats pk over the UCLA Bruins.

Florida Gators -2 over Wisconsin Badgers

Two of the more overlooked teams in all of college basketball. Florida, out of the SEC, and Wisconsin from the Big Ten. These two teams play the game the right way, and have guys that can shoot the basketball. This may not be the most flashy basketball game, but it’s going to be competitive basketball game. Both of these teams will need to knock down big shots to win the game. In the end, the Florida Gators -2 is the best bet to make for this game on Friday.
