NFL Pick: Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Redskins

There are two games in the National Football League on Saturday. This is the second to final week of the season, and teams are either looking to seal their deal in the playoff, improve their stock, or for some it will be the end of the run. In this game, two teams out of the NFC East will square off when the Philadelphia Eagles play at the Washington Redskins. The first time these two teams played the Eagles won at home 37-34. Philadelphia comes into the game with a 9-5 record; one game behind the Dallas Cowboys. Washington is 3-11 this season, and for the second straight season last in the division.

The Washington Redskins have turned back to Robert Griffin III as their top quarterback. He took over for Kirk Cousins, and most recently Colt McCoy. The former Baylor quarterback has not been very good this season, following a poor last season. The Redskins two receivers Pierre Garcon and DeSean Jackson have a combined 8 touchdowns, while Alfred Morris and Roy Helu Jr. also have 8 on the ground. The defense for Washington has not shown the ability to continue to get stops when needed. The Redskins have allowed just shy of 240 passing yards per game. Washington wins came over Jacksonville, Tennessee and Dallas this season.

For the Philadelphia Eagles, Mark Sanchez is back under center. After losing Nick Foles, the Eagles have turned to, and kept Sanchez. Jeremy Maclin is a great weapon for the passing offense of Philadelphia. The former Missouri wide receiver has caught 78 passes for 1,207 yards and 10 touchdowns. Jordan Matthews has also been sharp for the Eagles with 7 touchdown receptions. LeSean McCoy has rushed for 1,132 yards and 4 touchdowns, while Darren Sproles leads the team with 6 rushing touchdowns. The Eagles are come off back-to-back losses to the Seattle Seahawks and Dallas Cowboys.

We like this game to be competitive. It’s got national television with it’s eye on it. Robert Griffin is going to want to show he can still play. Jay Gruden is going to have a good game plan, as he is rumored to be losing his job. Look for Chip Kelly to have a great offensive plan as well, like most games the Eagles play. Look for both of these teams to get off to a nice start, but in the end, the offense will slow down a little bit. We like this game to stay close throughout, but the Eagles to come away with the win. Our final bet for this game is the Washington Redskins +7.5 over the Philadelphia Eagles in the first of two games on Saturday.
