NCAA Football: Baylor Bears at Oklahoma Sooners

It should be a fun time for college football in Norman Oklahoma on Saturday afternoon. At Memorial Stadium, two teams ranked in the Top 15 will get together at 11am CST. The Oklahoma Sooners will host the Baylor Bears. Oklahoma comes into the game following their 59-14 win at Iowa State last week. The Sooners have lost two games this season; against TCU and Kansas State. For the Baylor Bears, they are 7-1. Their lone loss came on October 18th at the West Virginia Mountaineers. Baylor feels if they can run the table in the Big 12, they may still have a chance at a national title game.

The Oklahoma Sooners are of course led by head coach Bob Stoopes. His team has been tremendous on the offensive end, scoring 41.5 points per game, which ranks 9th in the country. The Sooners quarterback Trevor Knight has completed 150 of 252 passes for 2,051 yards and 12 touchdowns. The bulk of Oklahoma’s offense has come from running back Samaje Perine, with 767 yards and 11 touchdowns. The Sooners are 24th in the nation, averaging over 230 yards per game on the ground. Oklahoma will finish the 2014 regular season with games at Texas Tech, and then home games with Kansas and Oklahoma State.

For the Baylor Bears, they have been awesome offensively as well. The Bears are the top scoring team in all of college football with more than 50 points per game. Baylor ranks 5th in the game with 349 passing yards and 22nd in rushing yards with 241.3 per game. The top threats offensively for the Bears have been their quarterback Bryce Petty, running back Shook Linwood and receiver K.D. Cannon. Petty has thrown for over 2,000 yards and 20 touchdowns. 6 of his touchdown passes have come to Cannon, with another 7 to Corey Coleman. Both are averaging just shy of 20 yards per reception. Shook Linwood has rushed over 150 times for 777 yards and 10 touchdowns. The Bears have scored 60 or more 3 times this season.

We feel like this game is going to be a thriller. There are a ton of great college football games on Saturday, but we are not sure there will be a better one than this game. The Oklahoma Sooners do not want a third loss, especially in conference play. Baylor is going to be looking hard at keeping their national championship chances alive. The Bears and Sooners will both be able to score, and we think both teams will air it out. Look for a ton of points to be scored in this game, in fact we are guessing over 100 total points. In the end, we are taking the home team, the favorite Oklahoma Sooners -5 over the Baylor Bears on Saturday morning.
