Trailblazers vs. Thunder – Feb 5, 2017

Bet on the Thunder over the Trail Blazers on Sunday.

Just three games in the NBA today due to some sort of big football game tonight so I took a look at the one that was most appealing to me, the Trailblazers vs. Thunder. The Trailblazers will travel to Oklahoma to take on the Thunder at the Chesapeake Energy Arena with a 3PM ET tip off. These two teams played each other back in December with the Trailblazers winning by a score of 114-95 in Portland. The home team has won SU the past 8 out of 10 times in this series and 5-1 ATS in the last 6.

Portland 1 Game Off Playoff Spot

Portland is 22-29 SU/22-29 ATS and are currently sitting at the 9th spot in the Western Conference Playoff Picture. Only 8 spots make it so the Trailblazers need to get some wins put together to increase their chances and to take over the 8th spot from the Denver Nuggets.

Portland is coming off a 5 game home streak where they went 3-2 SU and ATS. Portland is 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games vs. Western Conference. They are also 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games coming off a SU loss. In their last game, they lost 108-104 to the Dallas Mavericks.

Westbrook Averaging Triple Double

The Thunder are 29-22 SU and 27-23-1 ATS on the year. The Thunder are in the 7th spot in the Western Conference Playoff Picture. The Thunder 4-1 ATS in the last 5 games against the Trailblazers. The Thunder are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games at the Chesapeake Energy Arena.

The Thunder are coming off a 114-102 win over the Memphis Grizzlies. In that game, Russell Westbrook led all scorers and put up another triple double. Westbrook scored 38 points, had 13 rebounds and 12 assists in 38 minutes. Westbrook is now averaging 30.8 points per game, 10.5 rebounds per game and 10.3 assists per game and is shooting 41.9% FG percentage.

Thunder At Home Prevail Over Trailblazers

The Oklahoma City Thunder have been tough at home this year going 17-7, while the Portland Trailblazers have struggled on the road going 8-18. In the game, I look for Portland to struggle finding ways to stop the Thunder from scoring and scoring in bunches! Russell Westbrook is on fire lately and the Trailblazers are allowing teams to score an average of 112.4 points per game on the road. My Sunday play in the NBA is a 2 Unit Play on Oklahoma City Thunder!
