Memphis Grizzlies vs. Indiana Pacers – Feb 24, 2017

Bet on the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday

The Memphis Grizzlies will travel to the Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Friday night to take on the Indiana Pacers. The tip off for this game is 7:00 PM ET. The Memphis Grizzlies have won the past 5 meetings between the Grizzlies and the Pacers both SU and ATS by an average of 10.4 points.

Grizzlies Defense Ready For Second Half

The Memphis Grizzlies are 34-24 SU and 30-28 ATS on the season. They ended the first part of the season going 7-3 SU and ATS. Memphis has the 3rd ranked defense in scoring in the NBA and they just signed Toney Douglas for the remainder of the year. The Grizzlies are 10-4 with Douglas in the game.

The Grizzlies will now focus their attention on moving up in the playoff race. They are in the 6 spot in the Western Conference within a game of both Utah Jazz and LA Clippers. It may be now or never for the Grizzlies as Tony Parker and Zach Randolph are both in the final year of their contract and headed into free agency.

Trouble In Indiana!

The Indiana Pacers are 29-28 SU and 25-31-1 ATS. They struggled prior to the break going 0-6 SU and 2-4 ATS in their last 6 games.

Prior to close of the trade deadline, Paul George was rumored to be headed to many teams in a trade and the speculated rumors caused him to subtly speak his mind. George admitted that he was distracted by the trade talk and in his interview stated that he was unaware of what was going to happen, calling it a “Dark Moment”.

When asked further about the Pacers attempting to trade him, he responded with “You want me to be your guy here, i thought I’d be in the look a little more than that” Will this be a distraction to the team? Only time will tell. In my opinion, George didn’t appear too happy with the Pacers organization in how this was handled.

Grizzlies D Too Much For Pacers

As I stated earlier, there seems to be some unsettled animosity in Indiana between Paul George and management with how the trade issue was handled but at the end of the day, he is still a Indiana Pacer. That being said, his Pacers are playing the 3rd ranked defense in scoring in the NBA! This game is going to be tough for the Pacers to get rolling as the Grizzlies play tough D. I look for Memphis to get a road win here!
