The Cleveland Cavaliers will be looking for the 1st round quarterfinal sweep of the Indiana Pacers in game 4 Sunday afternoon in Indiana. The Cavs have won all 3 games leading up to game 4 by the score of 119-114 (game 3), 117-111 (game 2) and 109-108 (game 1). All 3 of the postseason games ended up going over the posted total.

These two teams know each other very well as they have now played each other 7 times in this season, 3 postseason and 4 regular seasons. The Cavaliers also won the regular season set of games, 3-1 SU and split the 4 games ATS with 2 wins each.

Defending Champ Cavs Look For Sweep

The Cleveland Cavaliers are 54-31 SU and 37-45-3 ATS. They were 21-21 on the road this year and played 50 of their 85 games over the posted total. The Cavaliers have won 6 out of their last 10 games SU but only 4 games ATS. They have had a tendency to keep the games close and with being the defending world champions, the line is usually automatically inflated. In those 10 games, 8 games went over the posted total.

The Cavs have the 4th best offense in the NBA and the #1 offense in the Eastern Conference averaging 110.3 points per game. They are led on the court by star SF LeBron James, who is averaging 26.4 points per game and shooting 54.8% from the field.

Pacers Last Ditch Effort To Win In Postseason

The Indiana Pacers are 42-43 SU and 41-43-1 ATS. They were 29-13 at home this year and played 44 of their 85 games over the posted total. The Pacers have split their last 10 games with 5 wins and 5 losses SU but have been a very strong team to play going 8-2 ATS. In 7 out of those last 10 games, the game went over the posted total.

The Pacers have the 14th best defense in the NBA. They are holding their opposition to 105.3 points per game. Their offense is also middle of the pack as they are the 15th ranked offense, scoring an average of 105.1 points per game.

The Pacers and Paul George are desperate for a win! George’s comments prior to game 3 were taken by media and players alike in various ways. There have been issues with team chemistry since this year’s trade deadline so if the Pacers lose here on Sunday, we could be seeing the last of Paul George in Indiana!

When The World Zigs, We Zag! Go Under!

Sure the stats all support this game going over and team matchup history say this game is absolutely going over but when they zig, we zag! Here is why… the last 3 postseason games between the Cavs and the Pacers, the line total was set at 209.5, 210 and 208.5.

Each of those games went over so naturally, lines makers increased the line to what is now set at 212.5. If you add in the fact that 3 of the 4 regular season games also played over the posted total, you can sort of understand why they did this right?…..WRONG!

Indiana has one chance of keeping this game competitive and that is to play better defense! They are at home and they had their opportunities in the last game to take the game but faltered in the end.

I think this game will be much closer and a lower-scoring affair between these two so while the rest of the world is going to jump on the over, I will side with a defensive game and play the under for 2 units.

Pick: Cleveland vs. Indiana Under 212.5 for 2 Units
