2017 NBA 3 Point Contest Betting Odds, Picks & Predictions

Nick Young (Swaggy P) is our pick to win the 2017 NBA 3 Point Contest.

The Three Point Competition is Saturday Night at 8PM ET on TNT. The three point competition is a fan favorite of All Star Weekend and this year, we have 8 contestants ready to battle for the Three Point Crown.

The 3 point contest is a 2 round, timed competition with five shooting locations positioned around the 3 point arc. Four racks contain four regular/regulation NBA basketballs, each worth one point, and one multicolored “moneyball”, at the end of each rack, worth two points.

This year, the final and fifth rack is a special “all money ball” rack, which each contestant can place the “Money Ball Rack” at any of the five shooting locations. Every ball on this rack is worth two points.

The players have one minute to shoot as many as the 25 balls as they can. The three competitors with the highest scores in the first round advance to the championship round.

The Contestants

Klay Thompson (Golden State Warriors) +141

Klay Thompson will look to defend his 3 point Champion Crown. If he is successful in defending the crown, he will be the first to do so since 2007/2008 when Jason Kapono was the 2 time champ.

Kyrie Irving (Cleveland Cavaliers) +418

This is Kyrie Irving’s 4th appearance in the 3 point contest. He won this contest in 2013. He averages 2.4 three pointers per game.

CJ McCollum (Portland Trailblazers) +679

CJ McCollum is not far off from Kyle Lowry’s 3 point shooting efficiency.

Eric Gordon (Houston Rockets) +768

Eric Gordon is second in the NBA in three pointers made. This is the first time Gordon has taken part in the 3 point contest.

Nick Young (LA Lakers) +962

Swaggy P is in the three point contest! Young is averaging nearly three 3 pointers per game in regular season. Young is only the third Laker in history to play in the 3 point contest.

Kyle Lowry (Toronto Raptors) +971

Kyle Lowry has the highest percentage of 3 point shooting efficiency in the NBA this year. This is also a career high year for Lowry in 3 point shooting.

Kemba Walker (Charlotte Hornets) +1007

Kemba Walker will be playing in his very first All Star Game on Sunday but on Saturday Night, he will be competing in the 3 point competition. Walker is 3rd in the Eastern Conference and 8th in the NBA in 3 pointers made. Walker is only the 4th Hornet to ever play in the 3 point contest.

Wesley Matthews (Dallas Mavericks) +1147

Wesley Matthews is currently tied for the lead with the most 3 pointers made in the NBA this year. Matthews is tied with Steph Curry and Kyle Korver, neither of which are participating this year in the 3 point contest.
