The San Francisco Giants and LA Dodgers will face off on Sunday Night Baseball on ESPN tonight at 8:08 PM ET from Dodgers Stadium.  The Dodgers have won the first two games of this series and will breaking out the brooms looking for the sweep tonight at home.

The last 10 times these two have faced each other, they have split the games 5-5 and the game played over the posted total 6 out of 10 times.

Giants Lacking Offense

The San Francisco Giants are in last place in the National League West Division with a 40-65 record.  They are currently 33.5 games behind the first place LA Dodgers, which is the largest difference between first place and last place teams in a division in the majors.  The Giants have lost 3 games straight and are 4-6 in their last 10 games.

The Giants have one of the worst offenses in the National League.  They are only batting .245 as a team and have only scored 411 runs, which is the third worst in the National League.   The Giants will swap out Matt Cain’s start and replace him with Madison Bumgarner.  The Giants have stated that it is simply to keep Bumgarner on his regular rotation however we will discuss this a little further later in the article.

Dodgers Nearly Unbeatable At Home

The LA Dodgers are the top team in the National League and are in first place in the National League West Division.  They are well on their way to winning their fifth straight divisional title this year.

The Dodgers are 73-31 and are 13.5 games in front of the Arizona Diamondbacks for first place in the division.  They are 8-2 in their last 10 games and are on a 7 game winning streak.  The Dodgers have been very tough at home this year going 46-13 at Dodgers Stadium.  The Dodgers are 26-17 against teams from within their own division, the NL West.

Dodgers Sweep Giants

The Giants will swap pitchers and give the start to Madison Bumgarner with the hopes of avoiding the sweep but it really doesn’t matter who is pitching at this point, the Dodgers are simply a better team and have one of the best offenses in the National League.  The Dodgers will put up some points tonight and show the world on National TV that they are going to be tough to beat in the playoffs.

Pick: LA Dodgers -275 for 2.5 Units
