  • Total: 9.5
  • Quick Pick: Washington Nationals -145 for 3 Units

The Washington Nationals will host the Colorado Rockies for a 3 game series starting on Friday at Nationals Park in the Nation’s Capital, Washington DC. These two played each other back on April 24-27, with the Nationals winning 3 out of the 4 games.

Rockies Hoping For Playoff Push

The Colorado Rockies have gone from being a team to compete with the first place LA Dodgers to becoming a team that is fading fast in the division and have an elimination number of 47.  The Rockies have lost 3 games in a row and are coming into this game off being swept by the St. Louis Cardinals.

The Rockies are 58-45 and are currently 13.5 games behind the Dodgers.  The Rockies have scored more runs than anyone else in the National League with 549.  They are also hitting the second best in the league as a team at .275.

Nationals Looking To Increase Lead In Division

The Washington Nationals come into this game off a series with the National League Central Division’s first place team, Milwaukee Brewers.  In the series with the Brewers, the Nationals won 2 games and lost 1.  On Thursday, the Nationals spanked the Brewers 15-2 with another stellar pitching performance put on by Max Scherzer.

The Nationals lead the National League East Division with a 61-39 record.  They are currently 13 games ahead of the Atlanta Braves for the top spot in the division. The Nationals have gone 7-3 in their last 10 games and are now on a 2 game winnings streak.

Nationals and Rockies Keep Scoreboard Busy

The Nationals have scored 15 runs and 8 runs in their last 2 games.  The Rockies allowed 21 runs to be scored on them in 3 games.  Those two items don’t mix and with Marquez on the mound for the Rockies, allowing 92 hits in 90 innings and 43 runs in 16 starts, I expect a high scoring game between these two offensive powerhouses.

In addition to those facts, the first time these two played each other, all 4 games played over to the posted total with scores of 8-4, 15-12, 11-4 and 16-5.  I expect the same type of games here in Washington and will lay 3 units on the game to play over the posted total tonight in DC.

Pick: Nationals vs. Rockies Over 9.5 Runs for 3 Units
