Justin Thomas Set to Win the WGC Championships Mexico

Pretty exciting as we nailed the Honda Classic winner last week. Hopefully you made some money!

This week, the PGA Tour will turn it’s attention to Mexico, where the Club de Chapultepec in Mexico City will be the host of the event this weekend. The course sits nearly 8,000 feet above sea level, which could open up some huge drives.

It’s a great event, as nearly all the Top 50 players in the country will play. Let’s take a look at the odds to win the event this weekend:

Dustin Johnson +650

The new number 1 player in all of the world has been more consistent during the past year. It’s a new course for D.J., which could benefit the big strong Johnson. With the long drive and ability to kill the golf ball, Johnson is a nice pick for this weekend. Dustin Johnson is the favorite to win this event, and is listed at +650.

Jordan Spieth +800

It’s hard to go wrong with Jordan Spieth. This guy makes all the right shots. He seems to have quite a bit of confidence early on. The Masters is coming up soon, which means Spieth is going to heating up his game. You can bet Jordan Spieth to win the event in Mexico at +800.

Adam Scott +2500

The defending champion at this event, but the event was at Doral. He has finished 11th and 14th, and has Top 20 finishes in 13 of his last 14 starts. He continues to strike the golf ball well, which should lead him to a pretty low weekend. Adam Scott is a little big of an underdog, but his odds are pretty good for such a talented player. Scott is listed at +2500.

Justin Thomas +3300

The youngster still is getting overlooked when we start looking at the odds to win. This is going to be a monster season for Thomas. Mexico seems to be a nice place for Thomas to really break out and shoot several crazy low rounds. We love the odds Thomas has for winning the WGC in Mexico. Thomas is listed +3300.

Paul Casey +5000

Casey has been one of the best golfers on the tour from tee to green. That’s a great sign coming into this event in Mexico. Casey will need to do a better job scrambling, which will lead to more birdies. If he can do that, look for him to make a splash. Paul Casey is a pretty big underdog at +5000.

Jhonnathan Vegas +10000

Vegas has been playing really well. He was red hot at the Honda Classic, with a 64. Vegas also scored a hole in one, and still finished fourth. Playing some of his best golf, he is a guy that you can still get at pretty good odds. Vegas would be a great bet in Vegas. He is listed at +10000.

In what should be a great tournament, we are looking forward to the event. Our final pick for this event is Justin Thomas. Thomas is having a fantastic spring thus far, but coming off a poor performance. He is going to be primed to bounce back and get to the top. Bet on Justin Thomas +3300 to win this event. Our other pick would be the red hot Jordan Spieth. Spieth is coming off the AT+T Pebble Beach Pro AM Championship.
