Betting Picks, Tips and Odds for the PGA FedEx St Jude Classic

Phil Mickelson is our top pick to win the 2017 CareerBuilder Challenge in the PGA tour golf.

It’s the 60th Anniversary of the FedEx St. Jude Classic. The 2017 event will take place at TPC Southwind and featured 156 golfers, which include past champions and some of the game’s best young stars. The course is a par 70 that is more than 7,200 yards long. The best score at the event was back in 1996 when John Cook shot a 258. Daniel Berger is the defending champion, as he edged Brooks Koepka, Phil Mickelson and Steve Stricker. The world’s #1 player Dustin Johnson won the event back in 2012, but will not play this season. Justin Leonard and David Toms are the only two recent players to win this event twice. Leonard won it in 2008 and 2005, while Toms was back to back winner in 2003 and 2004. Let’s look at some Betting Picks, Tips and Odds for the PGA FedEx St. Jude Classic 2017:

Rickie Fowler +750:

The favorite to win this event. Fowler is ranked 9th on the PGA Money List right now, and has 5 Top 10 finishes. Last week at the Memorial, Fowler finished 2nd with a -10. It gained him nearly $800,000. That came after his 60th place finish at the Players CHampionship. He also has a third place finish in Houston.

Brooks Koepka +1100:

The 27 year old is 19th on the PGA Money List. He does it quietly, with just 3 Top 10 finishes this season in 15 events. He finished 31st at Muirfield, shooting just -1. His best play this season was in San Antonio, where he went -11 in San Antonio. He has the tools to do well in Memphis, let’s see if he can grab a title.

Adam Scott +1200:

Adam Scott is one of our favorite players on the PGA Tour. He has 3 Top 10 finishes this season, and is ranked 53rd overall. Scott wants to make a final push before the US Open coming in a week. Scott shot a second round 66 at Muirfield to make the cut. He finished the weekend with a 74 to fall to 31st. He finished 9th at the Masters, and 6th at the Players. Adam Scott is +1200.

Phil Mickelson +1600

AS you know, we cannot give contenders to win an event without the veteran lefthander. Mickelson made big news this week saying he would not be playing in the US Open to stay home for his daughter’s graduation. Mickelson has never won the US Open. But, before that, look for Phil to have a great week ahead, causing a bunch of second guessing.

Daniel Berger +2500

The defending champion in Memphis is 31st on the Money List. He has made just shy of $2M on the golf course this season. The 24 year old played his college golf at Florida State. He has not played great golf as of late, as he missed cup in March, and his last three performances, none of them were in the Top 25. Daniel Berger is +2500.

We are going to go with a favorite of ours, and take Phil Mickelson to win the FedEx St. Jude Classic. Phil is a great ball striker, and an excellent player. Look for him to put up four days of consistent golf and come away with the win. The final bet here is Phil Mickleson +1600 to win the FedEx St. Jude Classic.
