March Madness: Virginia Cavaliers vs. Florida Gators – March 18, 2017

Bet on Virginia Basketball over Florida

In the NCAA Tournament, a second round game will be played Saturday, as the Virginia Cavaliers will take on the Florida Gators. The winner will head to the Sweet 16. The 5th seeded Virginia Cavaliers are 23-10 on the season, and survived a first round upset from UNC Wilmington.

The Florida Gators are 25-8 on the season. Florida finished second in the SEC regular season standings, and came away with a first round tournament win over East Tennessee State. The Florida Gators are -2 over the Virginia Cavaliers in this game on Saturday.

Gators With Home Crowd Advantage

With the game being played in Orlando, the Gators should have a much larger crowd than the Mountaineers. Florida was impressive, scoring 80 points in their first tournament win. The win for Florida snapped their two game losing streak. Florida is averaging just shy of 79 points per game on the season, and allowing 66.6 per game.

The Gators are led in scoring by guard KeVaughn Allen. Allen is scoring 14 points per game for Florida. The Gators are playing in the NCAA Tournament for the 19th time in school history. Florida has one of the best overall records in the tournament in college basketball. The Gators have won 42 out of 59 tournament games.

Cavaliers Hoping to Gear up the Defense

The Virginia Cavaliers were one of the best defensive teams in the nation during the regular season. Despite the win, the Cavaliers allowed 71 points in the first round win. The Cavaliers are battled tested, as they have lost 10 games, with 8 of them coming to teams in this years NCAA Tournament.

The Virginia offense is anchored by guard London Perrantes. He is scoring 12.5 points per game, for a team that is scoring 66.6 per game. The Cavaliers won their first Atlantic Coast Conference tournament game over Pittsburgh, and then fell to Notre Dame, who is also in the round of 32.

Cavaliers Survive and Advance

This should be an excellent second round game of the NCAA Tournament. The winner will likely get Villanova, but after their shaky first half on Thursday, you never know. We have a Virginia team that wants to slow it down and play defense against a Florida team that prides themselves on both sides of the basketball.

While the game is in Orlando, Tony Bennett, and his team are not going to be scared of the crowd. Look for the Cavaliers to play much better on Saturday than they did on Thursday. Virginia is going to win this game, and move to the round of 16. The final bet for this game is the Virginia Cavaliers +2 over Florida.
